Montage of images from around Cambridge

Welcome to CaTaLOG – Cambridge Trainee Librarians' Online Group. This is the website of the current graduate trainees based at Cambridge college and faculty libraries, founded in 2004. This site provides information on careers in librarianship and the CILIP graduate trainee scheme, as well as an insight into life as a graduate trainee in Cambridge.

What's new?

  • » The 2012-2013 graduate trainees started in August and September. We update the website on a weekly basis with information about events, visits and our library experiences. We will be writing blogs to allow prospective trainees to get a feel for the working week at each of Cambridge's trainee posts.
  • » The current trainees gave a presentation at the 2013 Oxford and Cambridge College Librarians' Conference on the 25th of March. The title was "Graduate Trainees: On the Right Track?", relating to the theme of "Great Expectations"; the Prezi used to illustrate the discussion can be viewed here.
  • » The trainees from 2010-2011 delivered a presentation at the Libraries@Cambridge annual conference on 6th January 2011. The slides and a transcript of their presentation on the theme "Working together" can be found here.
  • » For the conference the previous year the trainees produced a poster to display, and this can be seen on the lib@cam flickr page.
  • » Several of the previous trainees have been involved in the running of online learning programmes, one for Web 2.0 technology and the other for professional development - find out more on our blog or at Cam23 2.0 and 23 Things for Professional Development directly.
